|I’m going to suggest a different way to think about time. I’ve written about this before, but it’s so darn important that I thought I should dig into it again.
We all know that time is extremely important and valuable. Some even suggest that time is priceless. This is simply because it’s in limited supply and it moves forward relentlessly… day-by-day!
We can’t stop it. We can’t slow it down.
But we CAN certainly profit from it.
To profit from time passing, we must actually sell time. In fact, take a second and consider if you sold today? How many times did you get paid for today?
Please understand I’m not talking about selling your time – trading your time for money. I’m actually talking about selling time. Having someone pay you for time… for today, tomorrow, next week, next month and next year.
Owning or controlling rental real estate is a great way to sell time. Your tenants are paying you for time. You (hopefully) get paid by each tenant for every passing day.
Let’s say you own a 50 unit apartment building. This building gives you the opportunity to sell each day 50 different times. The 50 families living in your apartments would all be paying you for THIS day. They will also pay you for tomorrow, too! 🙂
You even get paid for weekend days and holidays.

The crazy part is that there is NO limit to how many times you can sell each day.
The best way to sell time is by renting assets you own to others.
An asset is anything you own (or control) that someone else would pay to have access to or to use.
You have three basic options to sell time…
- Sell MANY people access to ONE asset.
- Sell ONE person access to MANY assets.
- Sell ONE person access to ONE asset.
- Sell MANY people access to MANY assets.
I personally try to do all of the above because time is so valuable. I want to sell each day as many times as possible. In fact, I’d like to sell each day thousands of times.
